Make a Difference Today
Jose Roberto Alvarez Mena was a loving husband and father. Beto Mena Foundation wants to spread our message of hope and compassion. We believe that a single action can make a difference, and that collective action can greatly impact the world during this pandemic.

WHO WE ARE
Our Roots
Jose Roberto "Beto Mena" Alvarez-Mena was an Salvadorian native who graduated Colegio Externado de San Jose in 1970. He then made his dreams a reality leaving his civil war stricken country, to come to Southern California, where he met the love of his life. He married Mirna Alvarez in 1985, raising 3 children: Monica, Roberto Jr, Alisha. Beto Mena was a hard working, compassionate, genuine, intelligent human who put others before himself,. Tragically after two weeks in the ICU, he passed away on July 20, 2020 due to the pandemic. His family has created this foundation in his honor, to help minority families who are in need of help. Here at Beto Mena Foundation, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support and love.
